About our Family Resource Center
At Making Opportunity Count, the Fitchburg Family Resource Center (FRC) provides free, confidential services that strengthen families and build community connections. Our staff work alongside parents and caregivers to address challenges, celebrate successes, and connect families to the resources they need.
From support groups, parenting groups, and youth programs to referrals for housing, healthcare, and behavioral health, the FRC is a trusted place for families to get help, build resilience, and create safe, nurturing environments for their children.

How much do services cost?
All Family Resource Center services are offered at no cost. Families will never be billed or asked to pay to participate.
Do I need insurance or meet income requirements?
No. Insurance is not required, and there are no income limits to use FRC services.
What if I speak a language other than English?
Services are provided in any language with the assistance with language links.
What are supervised family visits?
The FRC provides a safe, supportive space for families to have court-ordered or DCF-supervised visits with their children, with staff ensuring visits are child-centered and respectful.
Can the FRC help with school issues?
Yes. Our school liaison works directly with families and schools to support attendance, behavioral, and academic needs, helping children succeed in school.
Do I need a referral to come to the FRC?
No referral is needed. Families can call, walk in, or email the center directly to learn about services and programs.

Last year, the Family Resource Center supported over 1,000 families, offering parenting workshops, youth programs, and referrals to essential services.
