After School & Summer Camp

Through a balance of homework support, structured activities, and time to relax and play, our programs provide a safe and supportive environment for children outside of the school day. With access to tutoring, healthy snacks, and supervised recreation, students stay engaged, build positive routines, and have the support they need to succeed in school and beyond.

About Our Afterschool & Summer Camp Opportunities 

Making Opportunity Count’s youth Afterschool & Summer Camp opportunities are tailored to meet the diverse needs of children and youth in our community. We offer a variety of programs that focus on tutoring, education, STEM, and recreational opportunities, all while ensuring that youth have fun and make lasting memories. Our goal is to create an enriching experience that encourages youth to discover their passions, develop new skills, and prepare for a successful future.

Our Services

Through tutoring, enrichment, recreation, and healthy snacks, we support youth in building confidence, strengthening skills, and staying connected in a positive environment.

Tutoring and Mentorship

Personalized homework help and one-on-one tutoring paired with supportive high school and young adult mentors to help students build confidence and succeed academically.

Educational Activities

Engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support a variety of subjects, with a strong focus on STEM to build curiosity, skills, and confidence through active learning.

Recreational Activities

Fun and engaging activities that encourage creativity, physical movement, and social connection through arts and crafts, sports and outdoor experiences, and peer-based activities.

Nutritious Food  

Healthy snacks are provided to support participants after school, with additional meal services available during the summer to ensure consistent access to healthy food.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our Afterschool program is open Monday-Thursday 2:00pm-5:00pm throughout the school year. Our Summer camp runs for five weeks during the summer and we are open Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm.  

No, we are a drop-in center. Daily attendance is encouraged but not required 

Our Afterschool and Summer Camp are free of charge. 

There are school bus stops at and close by to the program. There are always staff present at the bus stops to get your child off the bus and to the program safely. Parents/Guardians are required to pick up their child.

Our Impact

Making Opportunity Count’s Afterschool & Summer Camp programs helped 27 youth learn, grow, and thrive through a blend of academic support, hands-on STEM enrichment, recreation, and nutritious meals.
