Nutrition Services

We provide nutritious meals and nutrition education for older adults across North Central Massachusetts. Services include home-delivered meals for those who are homebound, as well as welcoming group dining cafés where seniors can enjoy healthy food, social connection, and community.

About Nutrition Services

At Making Opportunity Count, our Nutrition Services help older adults across 21 North Central Massachusetts communities stay healthy, safe, and connected. We know that good nutrition is about more than food—it’s also about independence, dignity, and social wellbeing.

Through our programs, we provide home-delivered meals and wellness checks for those who are homebound, group dining cafés that bring people together for food and friendship, nutrition education to support healthy choices, and social connection to ensure older adults are not isolated. Together, these services give participants the nourishment and support they need to thrive.

Our Services

Our Nutrition Services include home-delivered meals, group dining cafés, nutrition education, and wellness supports—helping older adults stay nourished, connected, and healthy.

Home-Delivered Meals

Nutritious meals delivered directly to homebound older adults. Friendly drivers also provide a daily check-in. Medically tailored meals are available with a doctor’s prescription.

Group Dining Cafés

Enjoy a nourishing lunch, socialization, and optional activities at our community cafés. A registered dietitian offers nutrition presentations. Registrations are required one day in advance.

Nutrition Education

Learn about healthy eating and disease prevention through workshops and one-on-one counseling provided by our registered dietitian. Education topics include meal planning, chronic disease management, and healthy aging.

Wellness & Social Connection

Beyond meals, our programs support overall well-being. Drivers conduct well-being checks during deliveries, and group dining provides opportunities to build friendships and stay connected with your community.
