Parents as Teachers (PAT)

Parents as Teachers partners with families from pregnancy through kindergarten, providing guidance, developmental screenings, and parent-child activities. The program empowers parents to support learning, growth, and healthy development at every stage.

About Parents as Teachers

Parents as Teachers is built on the belief that parents are their child’s first and most important teacher. Our program strengthens families by focusing on positive parent-child interaction, healthy child development, and school readiness.

Through regular home visits, parent educators share research-based information, model activities that support learning, and help families set goals for their family’s growth. Families also benefit from developmental screenings, group connections, and referrals to local community resources—creating a strong foundation for lifelong success.

Our Services

As a Blue Ribbon Affiliate, our program meets the highest quality standards, giving families trusted, research-based support for their child’s growth and development.

Personalized Home Visits

Certified parent educators meet with families at home (or virtually) to share child development information, model parent-child activities, and support positive parenting practices.

Developmental Screenings

Regular screenings for health, hearing, vision, and developmental milestones ensure children are on track and connect families to developmental services when needed.

Group Connections

Families participate in group activities and play sessions, that encourage peer support and build community. These activities support school readiness, early literacy, and social-emotional growth.

Resource & Referral Support

Families are connected to community resources that strengthen family wellbeing and stability.
